Confocal service / Repair
Confocal down? Let's get it scanning again.
Break-fix repair for laser scanning and spinning disk confocals, on site anywhere in the US. Tell us the model and the symptom, and an engineer will tell you honestly whether it is a repair, an upgrade or time to replace.
Common problems we fix
If it sounds like one of these, include it in your request. It helps us bring the right parts the first time.
- A laser line is missing or power has dropped
- The scanner will not initialize or throws errors
- Dim, noisy or dead detector channels
- Poor sectioning or a misaligned pinhole
- Software will not connect to the controller
- The system PC has failed or will not boot
- Motorized stage, focus or incubation failures
- Spinning disk unit not spinning or not synchronizing
How a service call runs
The same four steps whether it is a down laser or an annual PM.
Tell us the symptom
An engineer, not a call center, reviews your request and asks the few questions that narrow it down.
Get an estimate
You get an advance estimate, refined with scope, parts and lead time once the system is evaluated. You approve before work starts.
We do the work
On site in your lab, or crated and repaired on our bench. Lasers measured, optics cleaned, scan path aligned.
Report and warranty
A written service report with the measurements taken, plus 30 days of coverage on parts and labor.
Down more often than it should be?
A service contract with scheduled PM catches most failures before they stop your users.
Questions labs ask us
How fast can you get to a down confocal?
Tell us the model and the symptom and we will give you a realistic date. Some problems can be narrowed down by phone first, so we arrive with the right parts.
Which confocals do you repair?
Zeiss LSM systems, plus Leica, Olympus FluoView and Nikon confocals and spinning disk systems, including the CrestOptics units we install. Tell us the model and we will confirm.
Is the repair under warranty?
Yes. Parts and labor we install carry a 30-day warranty.
Is it worth repairing an older confocal?
Often it is, especially for lasers, PCs and alignment. When it is not, we will say so and quote an upgrade or a refurbished replacement instead.
Request a free service assessment
Tell us the manufacturer, model and what the system is doing. If it is down, say so and we will prioritize it.
No obligation and no charge for the assessment.
